Tis the season.

I have been ready for Christmas since Thanksgiving. There is something about watching the arrival of Santa in the New York Macey's Day Parade followed by a turkey dinner that sets me in the mood for Christmas.

This year Thanksgiving fell as always on the third Thursday in November, but was earlier in the month than normal so I had to wait over a week for the "holiday" movies to start to be shown on television every night.

There are some films that just have to be watched each year, Miracle on 34th Street is a huge personal favorite, the colorized version over the black and white is preferred; Its a wonderful life, a classic that I only watched for the first time in the US, and the "You'll shoot your eye out and the misadventures of little Ralphy in his quest for a gun for Christmas".
